Bio

Core Focus Pilates is a rehabilitation center that specializes in Pilates based physical therapy, using the authentic equipment designed by Joseph Pilates. This system of physical therapy is ideal for treating various disorders because the focus is on proper posture and form, returning the body into its natural alignment that is ideal for function.

All sessions are conducted in complete privacy and can be offered in Spanish if required. Our caring female therapist is attuned to the needs of everyone from children to seniors.

Core Focus Pilates Rehabilitation accepts most insurances with a physician’s prescription, auto insurances, workman’s compensation, and private pay patients/clients. Fitness sessions are by appointment only.

Some of the various patients that can benefit from Core Focus Pilates include:

  • • Neck and back issues (spinal stenosis, herniated disc,
motor vehicle accidents, sciatica- to name a few)
  • • Arthritis (both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid)
  • • Post-surgical rehab such as total hip and knee
  • • replacements, shoulder surgeries, fractures, etc.)
  • • Fibromyalgia
  • • Balance disorders (can be due to Parkinson’s Disease, post-surgery, tumors, etc)
  • • Osteoporosis

At Core Focus Pilates, we offer return to sport rehabilitation, focusing on coordination, strength, and endurance training for Little Leaguers and professionals alike.

In addition to Pilates based exercise, our physical therapist also uses Craniosacral Therapy in order to treat chronic headaches, TMJ disorders, and other stress related conditions. The craniosacral system in the body is comprised of the brain and spinal cord, and the cerebrospinal fluid which flows around them. Similar to the principles of acupuncture, craniosacral therapy is a gentle, manual method (no needles!) to evaluate the functioning of the craniosacral system in the body, and release restrictions in this system in order to return the body to its ideal state..
